A: No, Big Lots does not require a membership. Any shopper is able to enter a Big Lots, purchase goods, and check out without any additional requirements.
Big Lots does have a 100% free rewards program called BIG Rewards. The benefits include:

In our opinion, you should at least sign up for the 20% off VIP shopping days. Big Lots will alert you when these events are coming up. Show up to the store on the VIP day and receive 20% off your purchase of typically already low prices without any additional cost to you such as a membership fee.
The stores tend to be busy during these VIP days – especially during peak shopping times. You may potentially need to allow time to wait in the checkout line or to deal with store traffic.
