About Hobby Lobby

Hobby Lobby was started in 1972 by David Green in Oklahoma City. Green had a passion for retail from a young age. It was said that he worked 40 hours or more per week at a Five & Dime while also in high school. The first Hobby Lobby was a tiny 300 square-foot location that eventually moved to a larger 1,000 square foot building. There were seven Hobby Lobby stores approximately a decade after the launch of the first store. Today, the company has over 900 stores and offers over 70,000 items for sale.
