Yes, American Eagle accepts Apple Pay in-stores and online. American Eagle was one of the initial retailers to accept Apple Pay for payment when it was first introduced.
American Eagle Stores & Apple Pay
Apple Pay was launched on October 20, 2014. American Eagle already had it available in 300 of its stores by November 19, 2014, based on the below Twitter response.
In 2015, the company made Apple Pay available in all American Eagle stores, Aerie, and the factory stores.
You can always verify if a store such as American Eagle or Hollister takes Apple Pay by using the Apple Maps app.
Open the app and search for the store you wish to visit. Find the “Useful to Know” section below the store’s phone number and website address. Here you will see the Apple Pay logo and/or “✓ Accepts Apple Pay” if the store accepts Apple Pay.
The image below from the Apple Maps app shows the location details of an American Eagle. You can see the Apple Pay logo (circled in red) in the “Useful to Know” section, which indicates that this store takes Apple Pay.
American Eagle App & Apple Pay
The American Eagle app accepts Apple Pay for payment. You must have Apple Pay set up on your Apple device before you start the checkout process. Simply tap the Apple Pay button in your app to start the checkout process.
AE.com & Apple Pay
Apple Pay is also a payment method on the American Eagle website (AE.com). You must have Apple Pay set up on your Apple device and be using the Safari browser to use Apple Pay on AE.com.
