Q: Does Trader Joe’s accept Apple Pay as a payment method?

Yes, Trader Joe’s takes Apple Pay in its stores. This was confirmed on Apple.com and on TraderJoes.com. According to MacRumors.com, Trader Joe’s installed the technology to accept Apple Pay in its stores in 2015. It was rolled out only in some stores when it was first implemented. However, it is now a payment option in all stores.

Trader Joe’s Payment Methods

Here are all the accepted payment methods at Trader Joe’s:

  • Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, Google Pay (Mobile Payment)
  • Cash
  • Credit Cards
  • Debit Cards
  • Personal Checks
  • EBT Cards
  • Physical Trader Joe’s Gift Cards

Note that the above payment options apply to in-store purchases. Trader Joe’s does not have online ordering.

Apple Pay & Apple Maps

You can confirm that a Trader Joe’s store (or any store) takes Apple Pay by going to the Apple Maps app on your Apple mobile device. Find your local store in the maps app and scroll down to the store information section. Below where the store phone number and website are displayed, there will be an area titled “Useful to Know”. Here it will display the Apple Pay logo if the store accepts Apple Pay.

As we previously stated, all Trader Joe’s take Apple Pay so the check via Apple Maps is really not necessary. However, it is a useful tool to have handy when in doubt about whether other stores take Apple Pay.
