Q: Does Target have a layaway program?
No, Target does not have layaway available at its stores or on Target.com. If you contact your local Target, you can try to have the store hold an item for a very limited time. However, there is no guarantee that they will hold any item for you. Additionally, Target likely will not hold clearance items, on sale merchandise, and hot ticket items. These products are commonly first come, first serve.
While Target does not have layaway, Walmart does offer it starting approximately September 1. Check out our article on Walmart’s layaway policy for more information. Additionally, Kmart also provides layaway. You can see their layaway policy at Kmart.com.
