Yes, Target stores take Apple Pay. The company began accepting this payment method in all U.S. stores starting in 2019. Be aware that Target RedCards are not able to be added to the Apple Pay wallet. However, you can use the Target App as a digital wallet for RedCards.

According to help.target.com, Apple Pay is not listed as a payment method for use on target.com or the Target app. You can use the following payment options online or through the app:

  • Target RedCard
  • American Express
  • Discover/Novus
  • Mastercard
  • Visa
  • Taget PCard
  • Credit Cards from Foreign Banks
  • Debit Cards Associated with Visa or Mastercard
  • Gift Cards (American Express, Discover, Visa, and Mastercard)
  • Paypal (Target.com and Target app-Android)

Apple Maps, Target, & Apple Pay

You can confirm if a store like Target uses Apple Pay by using the Apple Maps App. Open the app and search for the store you desire to shop at. Once you pull up the store, scroll down to the “Useful to Know” section below the store’s phone number and website address. In this section you will see the Apple Pay logo or “✔ Accepts Apple Pay” if the store takes Apple Pay.
