Poland Spring Stock: Can You Purchase Shares?

Last Updated on 07/10/2021 by GS Staff

Is Poland Spring Publicly Traded?

Poland Spring is not publicly traded. It was a brand of Nestle, the world’s largest food company, since 1992. However, Nestle recently sold the brand to two private equity firms called One Rock Capital Partners and Metropoulos & Company. The deal was for $4.3 billion and included other North American water brands such as Deer Park, Arrowhead, Ozarka, Zephyrhills, and Pure Life. This collection of bottled water brands is now known as BlueTriton Brands. It also includes the popular Ice Moutain brand of bottled water.

How To Invest in Poland Spring?

You cannot purchase Poland Spring stock since it is not publicly traded. The private equity firms would have to bring Poland Springs public in order for individual investors to be able to buy its shares. Given that Nestle recently sold Poland Springs to private equity firms, we doubt it will be public any time soon. Even if Poland Spring were to go public, we suspect that it wouldn’t go public alone. The private equity firms would likely bring the whole portfolio of bottled water brands public instead of just creating a sole Poland Spring stock.

Publicly Traded Bottle Water Companies

There certainly are not many pure-play bottled water companies that are public. However, you can look into the following companies that produce bottled water:

  • Coca-Cola (NYSE:KO) – Coke is the company behind ultra-popular water brands such as Dasani, Smartwater, and Vitaminwater. Dasani is the top water brand in the nation, according to Coca-Cola. Smartwater is said to be the leading premium water brand in America.
  • PepsiCo (Nasdaq:PEP) – If you love Aquafina bottled water, Pepsi might be one to research for potential investment purposes. Pepsi also owns Propel, H2Oh!, Lifewtr, Driftwell, Soulboost, SoBeWater, and Bubly sparkling water.
  • Primo Water Corporation (NYSE:PRMW) – The company is known for its water brands like Mountain Valley, Primo, Aquaterra, Pureflo, and more. Its products are sold in North America, Europe, and Israel.
  • The Alkaline Water Company (Nasdaq:WTER) – As its name implies, the company sells alkaline water. Its name brand of water is Alkaline88. The company offers water dispensers, water direct-to-consumers, a water exchange program, and a water refill program.
