[otw_shortcode_dropcap label=”A:” size=”large” border_color_class=”otw-no-border-color”][/otw_shortcode_dropcap] Nike and Under Armour are two separate companies. Nike is a publicly traded company that trades under NKE. Under Armour is also a publicly traded company that trades under the symbols UA and UAA. In the most recent annual filings, Under Armour had total revenue of $4.25 billion vs $34.35 billion for Nike.
Under Armour is controlled by CEO Kevin Plank. According to InvestorPlace, Plank has approximately 65 percent of the voting power with his ownership stake. This puts him in the driver’s seat to determine if the company is to be sold to Nike or another company. It will be up to Plank to determine if or when to sell the company.
