Does Target Accept Checks?

Q: Does Target accept checks?

Target accepts personal checks at Target stores. The company does not accept foreign checks or business checks. However, Target indicates that some exceptions may apply regarding the use of business checks.  Checks cannot be used as an online payment option. They are only permitted for use in Target stores.

According to NPR, check usage for non-cash payment transactions was at 46 percent in 2003. However, a 2017 and 2018 Federal Reserve survey found consumers used checks for only 7% of transactions during these years. There has undoubtedly been a switch from checks to debit/credit cards as the preferred method of payment.

While checks have lost their glory, they are still accepted by many stores in the United States. Places like Best Buy and grocery stores still accept checks. Of course, you can add Target to that list as well.
