Yes, McDonald’s takes Google Pay. This was confirmed with the official Google Pay website. You can pay with Google Pay inside a McDonald’s restaurant or when using the drive-thru.

You always can find nearby stores or restaurants that take Google Pay by using the Google Pay app. Once you set up Google Pay with a debit/credit card, the home screen of the app will show locations near you that accept Google Pay. If you are in a parking lot of a McDonald’s, for example, the home screen of the app should reflect the restaurant as a place where you can use Google Pay.
McDonald’s also takes Apple Pay for those people that may want to use this payment method as well.
