[otw_shortcode_dropcap label=”A:” size=”large” border_color_class=”otw-no-border-color”][/otw_shortcode_dropcap] Let’s figure out how many dimes are in a dollar before we answer how many dimes are in 5 dollars. It will make things easier if we do so.
To determine how many dimes are in a dollar, simply take one dollar and divide it by 10 cents (a dime). That equation is as follows:
$1.00 ÷ .10 = 10 dimes
Based on the above equation, there are 10 dimes is a dollar. We can easily determine how many dimes are in 5 dollars now that we know how many dimes are in a dollar. To determine how many dimes are in 5 dollars, take 10 dimes (the number of dimes in a dollar) times 5 (for the 5 dollars you are calculating). That equations is as follows:
10 x 5 = 50 dimes
Essentially, since there are 10 dimes in a dollar, there will be 50 dimes in 5 dollars.
Below we provided a visual of the long way to count the number of dimes in 5 dollars. This should help clarify how 50 dimes equals 5 dollars.
