[otw_shortcode_dropcap label=”A:” size=”large” border_color_class=”otw-no-border-color”][/otw_shortcode_dropcap] Yes, Toyota Motor owns Lexus. Toyota also makes the following vehicles or has ownership in the following companies:

4Runner, 86,Avalon, C-HR, Camry, Corolla, Highlander, Land Cruiser, Mirai, Prius, Sequoia, Sienna, Tacoma, Tundra, Yaris, Scion, Subaru (~16.6% ownership), Noble Automotive (~23% ownership), Daihatsu Motor, Hino Motors (~50 percent ownership), Isuzu Motors (~ 5.9% ownership).

Lexus is a relatively new company that launched in 1989.  By 1991, Lexus was the the best-selling luxury import brand in the United States, outpacing Mercedes-Benz and BMW. Lexus remains a key player in luxury vehicle sales. The Lexus RX held the top of the best-selling luxury vehicle list for 2017. The Lexus NX and ES also appeared in the top ten.

You can check out the below video for a brief history on the creation of Lexus. Interestingly, it took six years from the initial concept to the first sale. You can clearly see the exhaustive effort that went into getting the details right before the company even considered selling the vehicles. This is obviously one of the big reason for their initial and continued success.
