Yes, Family Dollar takes Apple Pay. The company announced on Twitter that all registers have the ability to accept Apple Pay now. You can also use other popular contactless payment methods such as Google Pay and Tap to Pay at Family Dollar.
Apple Maps & Apple Pay
You can always verify if a store such as Family Dollar or Dollar General takes Apple Pay by using the Apple Maps app. This app is likely already on your Apple device. If not, it can be downloaded from the Apple App Store.
To verify if a store takes Apple Pay, search for the location you wish to visit in the Maps app.
Once you pull up the store information, look for the “Useful to Know” section. This section is typically below the store’s phone number and website address. Here you will see the Apple Pay logo and/or the verbiage “✔ Accepts Apple Pay” if the store takes Apple Pay.
The image below from the Apple Maps app shows an example of a Family Dollar that takes Apple Pay. You can see in the “Useful to Know” section that the app displays the Apple Pay logo and “✔ Accepts Apple Pay”. Of course, this indicates that this Family Dollar takes Apple Pay.
